About the Position:

Doyle Auctioneers & Appraisers in New York City is seeking an Appraisal Coordinator for the Trusts & Estates Department. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, organized, able to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Excellent opportunity for an individual with an interest in the Arts. Full-time, in-house position, paid hourly at $21-$23 per hour. Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities include:

• Manage the preparation of fair market value appraisals from the initial call to the delivery of the completed appraisal in a timely manner
• Attend on-site appraisals with the team of appraisers
• Communicate with attorneys, paralegals, executors and other clients and/or consultants, as required
• Organize and compile all materials needed for the appraisal from the appraisers and other sources
• Proofread your own work and the work of colleagues
• Participate in auctions and other events at Doyle

Requirements:

• Bachelors and/or Masters Degree
• Basic understanding of fine and decorative arts terms, furniture styles and periods
• Basic understanding of appraisal reports and methodology
• Strong typing and proofreading skills and attention to detail
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Adobe and similar programs
• Legally authorized to work in the United States
