Cost Accountant

AHF Products has a job opportunity for a Cost Accountant to be located in Crossville, TN. Reporting to the Plant Controller.

As a cost accountant, you will collect, analyze and report on cost accounting data. This includes preparing standard costs estimates, monitoring inventory levels, cost comparisons, tracking variances and making journal entries. This position will also collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate budgeting and forecasting.

JOB DUTIES:

• Examine costs of production to determine efficient methods of production
• Ensure accurate classification of expenses under Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Research material costs to ensure accuracy of the information in the company’s financial system
• Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs
• Participate in physical inventory counts to ensure the accuracy of inventory records
• Monitor and analyze the direct labor and overhead related expenses
• Perform any other duties that may be assigned or required .

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 2 years’ experience
• Strong computer skills and proficient in MS Office applications 
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail 
• Strong problem-solving skills 
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic 
• Strong verbal and written communication skills 
• Good interpersonal skills in dealing with employees, management, and visitors 
• Ability to work in a team environment 
• Ability to learn new company specific applications
• Must pass a mandatory pre-employment drug test, physical, and criminal background check
