Oshkosh AeroTech is a leading provider of aviation ground support products, gate equipment and airport services to commercial airlines, airports, air-freight carriers, ground handling and military customers. The Maintenance Repair Technician III is responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing BHS and related electrical/mechanical systems, including industrial controls, wiring, and components. Duties include performing scheduled, unscheduled, and emergency maintenance; leading preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance efforts; leading and delegating tasks while communicating professionally with customers and team members; replacing system components such as encoders, photo eyes, controllers; interpreting manuals/work orders for accurate service execution; accurately documenting maintenance activity in CMMS and analyzing system data to identify and resolve issues; communicating critical updates to supervisors; operating equipment such as forklifts, golf carts, and company vehicles; supporting daily operations by clearing baggage jams and ensuring minimal system downtime; and complying with company safety programs and trainings. The role requires a High School Diploma or GED equivalent, a valid driver’s license, ability to obtain necessary security clearance, and 5+ years’ experience in maintenance operations. Preferred qualifications include skills in mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repair, familiarity with airport operations, intermediate understanding of PLC Control systems, ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics, experience with passenger boarding bridges and conveyance systems, and proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, project management tools, and CMMS software. Physical demands include standing, sitting, walking, using hands and fingers, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, hearing, climbing, balancing, and lifting/moving up to 50 pounds. Work environment involves exposure to moving mechanical parts, high places, outside weather, fumes, chemicals, cold, vibration, loud noise, and working on an airport ramp around aircraft and heavy equipment.
