We are seeking a Network Engagement and Programs Manager to join our collective efforts to create a connected and powerful nonprofit community that has the information and tools it needs to champion the public good.

Under the supervision of the Vice President of Knowledge, Impact, and Strategy, the Network Engagement and Programs Manager will help cultivate, grow, and advocate for NCN’s network members, ensuring positive member experiences and internal coordination toward the network across all of NCN’s teams.

Essential Details:

  • Compensation : Salary range of $100,000 - $125,000, plus the generous benefits described below. This is a salaried, exempt position.
  • Location : Flexible. Our office is in Washington, D.C., but we have multiple remote members on our team. We are open to considering candidates located outside of the Washington, D.C. metro area.

What You’ll Do:

NETWORK ENGAGEMENT

  • Assist the Director of Network Engagement and Capacity Building in day-to-day network engagement for NCN’s members, ensuring a strong, connected, and supported ecosystem of state associations of nonprofits serving the nonprofit sector
  • Assist the Director of Network Engagement and Capacity Building on network expansion efforts, cultivating relationships with potential member organizations in states where the organization has limited or no presence; helping grow the network's footprint and strengthening support for nonprofits in underserved regions.
  • Manage the onboarding of new staff across our national network providing orientation, guidance, and ongoing support to help them feel confident, capable, and connected from day one.
  • Provide responsive and high-quality support to the network, tracking touch points and engagement patterns to inform ongoing strategy and resources.
  • Manage the awarding and disbursement of small grants to network member organizations.

NETWORK LEARNING

  • Manage a robust yearly calendar of capacity building programs, including monthly virtual gatherings, quarterly in-person convenings, and a yearly conference for our network members.
  • Curate timely, relevant content that reflects the network's needs, strengthens leadership capacity and deepens engagement across diverse professional roles in the network.
  • Manage a resource library for network members.
  • Manage a staff resource library with information on state associations of nonprofits.

What You’ll Need:

When reviewing applications, we take a broad look at the experience of each applicant. That said, we are most likely to be interested in applicants who can demonstrate the following qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience working in network engagement and/or coalition building.
  • 3-5 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience working with networks, associations, or similar structures highly desired.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, especially writing and listening, with great attention to detail.
  • Natural and unqualified commitment to earning, maintaining, and building trust with people within and outside the organization.
  • Commitment to equity as a personal and professional value.
  • An enthusiastic team player who enjoys being part of a collaborative, collegial environment of dedicated and talented staff committed to shared success.
  • Energetic, dependable, and exemplary.
  • Highly organized with excellent time management skills and the ability to excel at multi-tasking and meeting deadlines while juggling multiple projects.
