Turnaround Scheduler – 631981

St. James, LA

NO Per Diem available

We are seeking an experienced Turnaround Scheduler with a strong background in Chemicals, Petrochemicals, or Refining . The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in turnaround scheduling, specifically in these industries, and must be proficient with Primavera P6 (P6) . This is an excellent opportunity to work on a major project while supporting scheduling functions for both design and construction phases. Local candidates are preferred , but regional candidates are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule Development:
  • Establish criteria for schedule development, including schedule detail and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
  • Develop, update, and manage both summary level and detailed turnaround schedules.
  • Task Identification & Coordination:
  • Develop comprehensive lists of design, procurement, construction, and post-construction activities by reviewing design documents, site conditions, and consulting with owners, design teams, and contractors.
  • Establish reasonable schedule logic and constraints based on feedback from task owners and project teams.
  • Progress Monitoring & Adjustments:
  • Perform site inspections to assess actual progress against planned schedules.
  • Identify and track schedule changes or trends.
  • Suggest corrective actions and develop recovery plans when delays are anticipated or occur.
  • Time & Cost Claims:
  • Prepare and manage time and cost delay claims when delays or issues arise.
  • Risk and Value Engineering:
  • Support risk allocation processes and participate in value engineering workshops to enhance project efficiency.
  • Training & Mentoring:
  • Teach and provide guidance on scheduling techniques to junior team members.
  • Strategic Engagement Management:
  • Oversee the strategic aspects of large engagements, ensuring that risks are effectively mitigated.

Requirements:

  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in turnaround scheduling within the Chemicals, Petrochemicals, or Refining industries .
  • Strong understanding of turnaround project lifecycles and the specific challenges in these sectors.
  • Software Proficiency:
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 (P6) scheduling software is a MUST .
  • Skills:
  • Excellent ability to develop, update, and manage schedules with attention to detail.
  • Ability to assess actual progress and identify discrepancies.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with owners, contractors, and cross-functional teams.
